Getting into MCET was like an extended lucky break for me! Every moment from 1972 to 1985 is peppered with enjoyable and interesting experiences at the school. Throughout my years at Maneckji Cooper I have received positive support and all the tools I needed to grow as a student and as a human being. My teachers have instilled principles such as hard work, integrity, kindness and inclusivity in me along with helping me build a never give up attitude. As I recall my formative years, I realize that they are full of many hard concepts to grasp, made easy and many coming of age stories to reminisce about.

Filled with apprehension and curiosity I joined Maneckji Cooper School in 1982 and 40 years hence, I can safely say that it is my experience and learning during my school years that is responsible for where I am today. The cultural diversity, the core values, the focus on overall development along with academic rigour provided a balanced environment for me to grow. The confidence that I developed as Head-Boy while addressing a large audience keeps me in good standing even today when I address national and international conferences. I thank my teachers and the school for giving us Cooperites the roots to stay grounded and the wings to fly high.

I had a lot of fun at school, and it is not just because we had so many different activities to choose from, to indulge our interests. My love for maths and physics come from the way it was taught to me by my teachers. As a result of which I was able to pursue engineering at IIT and then my doctorate degree. The foundation was built in my years at Maneckji Cooper School. The focus on developing all aspects of an individual’s personality has helped many of us grow into what we wanted to become. As a result, our alumni are a vibrant community of people from all different traditional and non-traditional professions some of who are my good friends. The diversity has added tremendous value to me as a person.

I joined school in kindergarten and we called it “Beachcroft” to finally become the Captain of my house, each step being encouraged and moulded by makers of leaders, our teachers. We all learnt the values of humility, respect, excellence, creativity and hardwork, helping me in becoming the person I am today.”
