Having a good quality of life and equal opportunities to progress are hallmarks of progressive society. At Maneckji Cooper Education Trust School, we believe in inculcating principles of equality, empathy towards one another, inclusivity and support, in our children. The objective of our social sustainability initiatives are:
  • Enabling children to become well-rounded, contributing citizens of the society
  • Helping them appreciate their opportunities and creates a willingness in them to enable equal opportunities for others less privileged than them
  • Creating a feeling of community, and helps children understand the importance of collective growth
Here are examples of some of the initiatives that the school has undertaken to promote social sustainability.

The NAB Lions Home for the Aging Blind

Our senior students recently visited the Home for the Aging Blind during their trek in Lonavala. The objective of this visit was to sensitize students towards the needs of differently abled individuals. The perseverance and determination of the blind community serves as inspiration for impressionable young adults and also creates the willingness to contribute towards their betterment.

Collaboration with Craft-Roots

Craft-Roots is an NGO which supports local artisans and provides them with a livelihood. The experience successfully acquainted students with parts of the Indian culture, especially bits and pieces of an enchanting legacy of artistry.

Collaborating with Good Shepherd:

The school organized a food donation drive for underprivileged children who are part of the Good Shepherd community, a local NGO that houses and cares for underprivileged children. Our students spend the day with the kids, interacting, playing, drawing and doing a series of joint activities which furthered learning in both groups.

Collaboration with the SNDT Women’s University Department of Special Education:

Our senior students spent a day with differently abled individuals to celebrate the International Day for Persons with Disability

Collaboration with Asha Kiran:

Our Std IX students visited Asha Kiran an underprivileged children’s home to teach and serve the children community at the home. The objective of the visit to make students understand what they can do to help those more unfortunate than themselves.
